This is a fascinating technique that has been used to make rugs (just ask Our life member Liz Odd) and softer finishes as in a scarf or on journal covers! We will help you make a sample then you can decide where you will use it.
Objective: make a sampler exploring how to achieve this ‘Cracked’ finish
- Skills Covered:
- Layering of wool
- Making pre-felt
- Designing with colour results in mind
- Internal resists
- Fulling cut edges
3 Hours – 10:30 start 2:30 Finish, allowing 1/2hr lunch, 1/2hr pack-up & re-cap.
Student to bring:
- Towel and tea towel
- Own lunch and ‘coffee’ cup
- Plastic bag
- $10:00 for wool pack
- Up to 20 grams of fine merino wool (at least 2 colours)
Felting Kit supplied for loan 😊
The room is booked from 9.30 onwards and other Feltwest members will be there felting. You are welcome to turn up anytime from 9.30 onwards to meet other members and work on your own felt project.
