Felt jewellery and armature with Katrina Virgona

Have lots of fun exploring some easy felting techniques combined with stitching to create unique pieces of jewellery. Participants will learn to construct small sculptural components using wool, wire and fabric. These components can then be assembled in various configurations to form funky pendants, neckpieces, brooches, rings etc.
No felting experience necessary.

Katrina Virgona is originally from North Queensland but has also lived in Fiji and northern NSW. She settled in Perth in 1984 after working and studying in various locations around Australia. Currently Katrina teaches art and fashion theory in the School of Design and Art at Curtin University. She also conducts various textile art and felting workshops.
In her studio practice, Katrina creates 3D artworks and contemporary textile jewellery pieces, drawing on a diverse range of materials including wool, wire, wood, metal, fur and human hair.
