9:30am – Doors open

Please write your name in the Attendance Book and put $2 into money box towards tea, coffee, milk, biscuits and venue hire and take a raffle ticket, which puts you in the drawer for FeltWEST credit voucher.

10 am – 11.30 am –  The Mini Workshop is Cracked Earth with Liz Odd

Liz Odd will be demonstrating how to create felt with a ‘cracked earth’ appearance.  This fascinating technique uses masking tape as a resist and can create unique effects on 2D and 3D pieces.  The cracked earth finish can be applied to rugs and sculptural objects as well as finer items with softer finishes such as scarves and journal covers.

 

 

 

 

 

Skills Covered:

  • Layering of wool
  • Making pre-felt
  • Designing with colour results in mind
  • Internal resists
  • Fulling cut edges

 

Materials to Bring:

  • Up to 20 grams of fine merino wool (at least 2 colours)
  • Masking tape (various widths if available)
  • Normal Felting equipment

You’ll have time to make several samples in the afternoon if you’d like to give it a try.

11:45am to 12.30pm – Lunch and sharing felting news and new work.

12.30pm to 1:30pm – Library & Bookings will be open. 

12:30pm to 4pm – Felting time – more time for you to continue practicing what you learning in the morning, or work on your own felt project.

4:00pm – Pack n Clean

4:30pm – Close
