May 4 @ 9:30 am - 4:30 pm
Circular Scarf Workshop with Sara Quail on Saturday May 4 – Sold Out
Enquiries please email the Feltwest Workshop Co-ordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org.
In this one-day workshop, we will make a lightweight circular cobweb scarf which can be worn in a number of ways. We will use extra fine merino wool and incorporate decorative fibres (optional). Different ways of creating a cobweb effect will be covered. The focus will be how to achieve the loop successfully and create a fine thin felt with an emphasis on good felting and fulling techniques.
We will be making a continuous circular scarf – a big loop that has it’s ends joined. The scarves can be folded to lie flat.
Please note: We won’t be covering Infinity scarves, technically Mobius loops, which are also a continuous loop but have one surface only – hence infinity, as the surface never ends. An infinity scarf doesn’t lie flat when folded, and the technique for making is different.
This workshop will suit beginners who have had some experience in laying out wool.
