Feltwest Beginners Extension classes aim to teach a range of new felting techniques to people who have completed the Beginners Class and want to know more. The Extension Classes will be based around making samples using different techniques, taking account of the specific interests of the participants. Class sizes will be small with a maximum of 6 participants per tutor.
Classes will be of 3 hours duration from 1-4pm. Arrive by 12.30 for a 1pm start.
The March 6th class will teach how to felt around a resist to make a 3 dimensional object. Participants will make a small pouch which can be used as a glasses case or pencil case.
- Layering of wool in different thickness
- Even layering
- Basic directional layering
- Basic resists
- How to fashion loops for decoration or for closure
- Basic Toggle
Student to bring
Towel and tea towel
$5:00 Materials or at least 50g of fine merino
The room is booked from 9.30 onwards and other Feltwest members will be there felting. You are welcome to turn up anytime from 9.30 onwards to meet other members and work on your own felt project.
